Our standards
US Great Schools publishes school ratings, rankings, and guides. Everything we publish must be accurate, transparent, and useful to parents. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.
1. Data, not opinion
Every numerical rating and ranking is computed from official open-government data. We do not collect our own test data, and we never invent a score. A school with no published result is shown as Not rated rather than given a made-up number.
2. No paid placements
Schools cannot pay to appear higher, be featured, or receive a better rating. There is no sponsored content on our pages and no “premium” directory tier. Our rankings reflect the data and nothing else.
3. Transparency about how ratings work
The full formula for each market is published on our methodology page, including the weight given to each input. If the underlying source data changes, so does the rating.
4. Corrections
If you find an error — a wrong address, a closed school, a misapplied source figure — email contact@usgreatschools.com. We investigate every correction request and update genuine errors promptly, with the source data as the final authority.
5. Reviews
Parent reviews are published as first-person experience, clearly separated from data-derived ratings. We moderate for abuse and spam but do not censor honest negative reviews.
6. Independence
We have no financial relationship with any school, district, or local authority. Our content and our data pipeline are independent.
